Social Events

TIMSCDR organizes Social Event annually to inculcated sense of Responsibility and empathy amongst the student towards those who are under privileged Social visits are paid to orphanage, old age home or special school. The event also arouses a sense of philanthropy amongst the students.

Workshop on “KITCHEN WASTE MANAGEMENT” 

Session on “Kitchen Waste Management” were organized by Ms. Bhagyashree Chemburkar on 29th August 2023.  She demonstrates participants the technique of converting kitchen waste into organic compost and protecting the environment by reducing the landfill waste. 

    

Tree Plantation

TIMSCDR were organized a tree plantation program around the ‘ Jyeshtalay ‘  park area, Borivali East on 13 August ,2022 , under the program ‘ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav ‘.

The program started with felicitation of MS. Asawari Patil , Corporator for R – Central Ward by Dr. Vinita Gaikwad , Director , TIMCSDR. The program aimed to plant saplings along the roadside, which could resist the pollution.  The director expressed the importance of planting trees and saving nature.  The teachers, non-teaching staff, and students all indulged in the process of plantation.

The HoD Academic Ms. Mira Gohil gave a vote of thanks to all the teachers and the students, a special thanks was paid to Ms.  Asawari Patil  who helped a lot to let this day.

Webinar on “Cyber Sakhi”

WDC Cell organized webinar on “Cyber Sakhi” by Responsible Netism to foster digital empowerment, a safe cyber experience and ensure mental well-being in cyber space 30th September, 2021from 01:00 p.m. to  2.30  p.m. The session was attended by 122 students and staff members of TIMSCDR

 

 

Webinar on “Enchant the Real High”

Webinar on “Enchant the Real High” was organized in association with Art of Living by Mr. Ramnik Bansal, Life Coach, Public Speaker, and Youth Mentor in India to educate students about menaces of Substance abuse on 8th February 2021 from 03:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Total 134 students from first and second year were participated.

Online workshop on “Kitchen Waste Management” were organized on 23 October 2020 in association with Aamhi Udyogini Prathishthan(AUP) and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Development Cell.

The session was conducted by Asst. Prof. Aprajita Singh who discussed with the participants technique of converting kitchen waste into organic compost and protecting the environment by reducing the landfill waste.

 

Online guest lecture on “Guidance on health and immunity” 

Online guest talk on “Guidance on health and immunity” were organized on 8 September  2020 in association with Aamhi Udyogini Prathishthan(AUP) by Ms. Rekha Divekaar Former Lecturer at sathey college, Mumbai discussed various health habits and   important of nutrition to reduce the risk and impact of virus infections, as well as to build a more resilient immune system over the long term.

Village adoption

Village adoption is an effort to facilitate positive impacts among rural and tribal communities. This scheme is considered as a model for energizing the rural economy in India and to avoid rural – urban migration which research has shown to be harmful to both; rural and urban people of India and their regions.

TIMSCDR had adopted “Belkadi Village “in Thane district, located in Vasai City in Maharashtra State. It belongs to Konkan region.

The objective of village adoption is to make villagers self sufficient to improve their living conditions, to apply IT skills to either train villagers or provide them IT based solutions to their general problems and to inculcate social responsibility in students and staff.

Village Adoption will help the students to learn things practically. Also, the residents of the adopted village will benefit through the action initiated by the staff and students of TIMSCDR which focus on their development.

Visit on September 2018

A group of faculty and students paid a visit to the Belkadi village on the 29 September, 2018. The Institute donated two computers to the Z.P. School at Belkadi. Participants interacted with villagers and school kids, distributed snacks, stationary for school kids, engaged the schools children in educational games and distributed some clothes among teens and elders staying in the village

A group of interested faculties and students paid a visit to Belkadi village on the 3rd of February, 2018. Participants interacted with villagers and school kids, distributed snacks and coloring stationary to school kids, engaged the schools children in various activities and distributed some clothes among villagers.

 

Social Event at Prayas(schooloing street Life), Goregaon (W) on 16 March 2017

The Institute organized Social Visit on 16 March 2017 at Prayas(schooloing street Life), Goregaon (W). 84 students and 4 faculty members participated in the activity. Students and staff from TIMSCDR donated foods, clothes, books and stationery and facilitated the program by entertaining and engaging the under privileged school going kids from the nearby slums during the event.

 

 

Awareness Campaign towards Cashless India 2016-2017

India is currently in the middle of an all out movement to modernize the way things are paid for. New bank accounts are being opened at a heightened rate, e-payment services are seeing rapid growth, cash-on-delivery in e-commerce has crashed, and digitally-focused sectors like the online grocery business have started booming.

As per AICTE guidelines, Cashless India Campaign was organized by Thakur Institute of Management Studies, Career Development & Research (TIMSCDR) in Association with Jhakaas Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on 27th December 2016.

Mr. Bharat Mandot, Director, Jhakaas Technologies Pvt. Ltd. addressed the Students and Faculty members about the Cashless India and its advantages. Mr. Jeetendra Sanjeeva, from Jhakaas Technologies addressed students about Cashless India Awareness Campaign and its objectives.

More than 200 students, 20 faculty members and most of the staff members from TIMSCDR participated in the event. All the students from TIMSCDR, interacted with the merchants from Thakur Village, Kandivali (E), Mumbai. A survey of about approximately 200 merchants was done. Students also interacted with the Customers and surveyed approximately 600 customers from Kandivali (E) region and made them aware about Cashless India and its benefits

It was found in the campaign that even the vegetable vendors on the streets, grocery shop owners have started using e-wallets and m-wallets.

Social Event at Mary Emaculate Hall, Borivali(W) on 16th July, 2016

A social event was conducted in collaboration with Karuna Hospital, Borivali (w) at Mary Emaculate Hall to support and help the under privileged kids by providing the much required educational material for their schooling.

School bags, tiffin box, water bottle, books and other stationery material was distributed amongst the under privileged kids during this event.

Dr. Jacob Thomas, Consulting physician, Diabetologist & Cardiologist JM Diagnostics, gave a talk to the kids about the relevance of hygiene and important of good health’s. Student and faculty from TIMSCDR engaged the kids in games.

 

 

Social Cause at Damu Nagar slum, Kandivali (E) on 7th December 2015

On 7th December 2015, Damu Nagar slum was engulfed by fierce fire due to multiple explosion of LPG cylinder. Faculty and staff extended a generous hand is helping the homeless slum dweller by distributing utensils and clothes.
