IEEE-TIMSCDR
IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovations and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and it’s members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.
TIMSCDR launched its IEEE Students’ chapter in 2018-19 and this forum provides a platform for all members to enhance their technical skills and expand their knowledge in all domains. The members of IEEE benefit from the seminars, workshops and activities that are planned internationally renowned Committee and have access to IEEE’s website. The members also get access to the monthly technical magazine by IEEE which keeps them updated with the latest trends around the world. The members are also allowed to participate in international conferences and symposiums organized by IEEE all around the world. Currently IEEE-TIMSCDR has 12 student members and 2 professional members associated with it.

EVENT : Workshop on Amazon Alexa by Hannan Satopay in association with IEEE

The IEEE Chapter at TIMSCDR in association with IEEE organized one day workshop on “Amazon Alexa : Transition and Opportunities” by Hannan Satopay on 8th November, 2019. Mr. Hannan Satopay, is Autodesk Tinkercad Advisor and Alexa Developer. The workshop was attended by students from TIMSCDR and outside colleges. Great insights on the future of UI as voice and how 25,000+ Amazon Alexa skills that enabled users to create a more personalized experience was explained during the workshop. The Workshop provided a platform in which participants can explore and design the interactions between current and future technology and activity. Through a series of structured workshop demonstrations participants were able to envisage future activities related to technology design and build models of future technologies.
EVENT : IEEE Bombay Section Young Professionals Affinity Group organized Student Transition Elevation Partnership (STEP)

Time : 1.30 pm onwards
04 students from TIMSCDR participated in the said event. The session provided the guidance for various opportunities available for young professionals and graduate student members of IEEE and facilitates the transition from a student member to a young professional. The session also provided guidance about planning and implementing various activities and initiatives on the section level.
EVENT : Workshop on Actions On Google

On 6 October 2018, Google Developer Student Club – Galgotias University Chapter (Delhi) conducted a one day hands-on training programme on ‘Actions on Google’ organized by IEEE Committee of TCET.
Actions on Google is a platform that lets anyone extend the functionality of the Google Assistant. This is based on Dialogflow which provides Google ML and AI APIs to create actions for Google Assistant.
More than 100 students from different colleges took part in this event which was packed with engaging talks and interactive codelabs
It was ensured that everyone could publish at least one app during the event so that every participant could be granted access to Google Developer Community.
10 students from TIMSCDR participated in the event and successfully developed a Google App. It was a great learning experience for all of them.
EVENT : IEEE, Mumbai SBC and Admin Committee Meet

On 6 October 2018, one faculty member along with two students attended the Mumbai Division IEEE Student Branch Counselor and Admin Committee Meet-2018 at Vidyalankar College. It was a great networking opportunity with the management committee of IEEE Mumbai Chapter and also with other IEEE student branch representatives and knowledge gaining sessions
